Rochester’s own Rivas has teamed up with Jamaican icon Sangie Davis to drop the spiritually charged single “Jah Praises”—a collaboration born on the island’s famed Tuff Gong studios and inspired by the biblical Psalm 24. Released in late August 2024, the track was recorded during the rapper and guitarist's second trip to Jamaica, following a prior visit earlier that year where he first connected with Davis.
Drawing inspiration from Psalm 24:1, the Puerto Rican artist initially drafted the song while traveling, and Davis later completed it in New York. Having previously recorded with the Binghistra Movement, Rivas expressed that Jamaica's island beauty and welcoming atmosphere made the recording experience at Tuff Gong International feel deeply like home.
