Kingston-based singer Cholita has released her latest single, titled "Higher", coming directly on the heels of her victory at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards, where she earned the title of Best New Artiste (Reggae). Released on Friday, the new track marks another musical collaboration between the Jamaican vocalist and Mixpak Records head Dre Skull.

The single expands on the partnership established during the creation of Cholita's debut EP, *Broken Promises*. Reflecting on the theme behind the new release, Cholita explained that the song explores deep personal attraction and energy.

“Higher was inspired by that feeling of having an undeniable connection with someone, where the chemistry is so strong that being around them just takes you to another place. It’s about the attraction, the energy, and the way two people can bring out a different side of each other. I wanted to capture that feeling in a way that was fun, sensual, and effortless,” Cholita explained.

She further emphasized that the song is meant to encourage listeners to embrace positive romantic dynamics without hesitation or second-guessing.

“I want listeners to feel free to embrace attraction, chemistry, and the moments that make you feel good. Sometimes, you meet someone whose energy just clicks with yours, and you don’t have to overthink it. You can simply enjoy the feeling and let yourself be in the moment,” she added.

Working alongside Dre Skull once again provided a creative environment that allowed her to refine her sound. Speaking on their working relationship, Cholita noted that collaborating with the producer remains an enriching experience.

“It’s always a pleasure, he really helps to make the process of making music feel a bit more effortless, and I always end up learning something new,” she said.

The release of "Higher" builds upon the foundation set by Cholita’s debut EP, *Broken Promises*, which launched in June. That project highlighted her versatility with high-profile feature appearances, including collaborations with dancehall artists Skillibeng on "Without You" and Popcaan on "Never Come Down". The multi-track EP also included songs such as "Next Time", "Deja vu", "Too Damn Hard", and "Second Chances", helping cement her trajectory in the reggae and Caribbean music industry.
