A new resort called Baymahni has opened on Stocking Island in Exuma, The Bahamas, occupying the former Kahari property and combining beachfront bungalows with a beach club, Bahamian restaurants and water access, according to Caribbean Journal.

The resort sits on Stocking Island, across Elizabeth Harbour from George Town, the main settlement on Great Exuma. Caribbean Journal reports that boats serve as the connection between the island and Great Exuma, and that the resort describes Stocking Island as having no vehicles.

According to Caribbean Journal, arrivals begin at Exuma International Airport, followed by a taxi to the Exuma Yacht Club and a complimentary resort water taxi to the property. The report says this arrangement gives guests access to George Town while keeping their accommodations across the water.

The accommodations include beach, beachside and lagoon-facing categories, with king beds, air conditioning and interiors that Caribbean Journal describes as incorporating natural materials, locally made furnishings and handwoven details. One option, the Beach Bungalow with Extended Veranda, pairs 370 square feet of interior space with a 301-square-foot veranda, according to the report. It includes a king bedroom and a ladder-accessed loft with a full-size bed designated for children ages 7 to 16, and connecting options are also available for families.

Caribbean Journal describes the Beach Club as the resort's focal point, occupying a peninsula with a 180-degree sweep of turquoise water. An infinity pool shares the setting with dining and cocktails. The dining lineup includes the Beach Club and The Beacon, a restaurant centered on Bahamian culinary traditions. According to the report, The Beacon currently lists dinner service Wednesday through Sunday with reservations required, while the Beach Club serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. A beachfront bar called the Daq Shaq serves frozen daiquiris and specialty drinks, and in-room dining is also available.

The resort lists complimentary kayaks, paddleboards and water bikes, along with snorkeling and coastal and inland trails on Stocking Island, according to Caribbean Journal. It also offers dock space for boats up to 65 feet, subject to reservation.

Caribbean Journal's report does not name a resort representative or company official, does not give a specific opening date beyond stating that the resort "just opened," and does not provide ownership, operator, room-count, rate or booking details. No independent confirmation of the opening from Bahamas tourism authorities or other outlets appears in the available evidence.
