Defending champions Mt Pleasant FA are through to consecutive finals of the Concacaf Club Championships after beating Club Sando of Trinidad 2-0 in the semi-final return leg at Sabina Park on Thursday, completing a 3-1 aggregate victory.

Second-half goals from Warner Brown and substitute Nickalia Fuller made amends for a first-half penalty miss by Trayvon Reid, his second in the series. The Jamaican side set up a final against the winner of the other semi-final, where Portmore leads Violette of Haiti 3-1.

Mt Pleasant carried the advantage into the home leg after an away goal in a 1-1 draw in Trinidad a week earlier gave them the edge.

Reid should have given them the lead in the 36th minute after Kyle Ming was fouled in the Sando penalty area, but the striker, who repeated his long, slow run-up from last week, saw his shot saved by goalkeeper Teshaun Ragoo.

He made some amends by providing the pass that led to Brown's opening goal in the 57th minute, giving Mt Pleasant the lead in the game and on aggregate.

A failure by Mt Pleasant goalkeeper Shaquan Davis to hold on to a ball in the 60th minute almost led to an equalising goal, but Luke Philip fired over the crossbar. Sando had another chance to score five minutes later, but Davis was equal to Jaron Pascal's shot from about three yards out.

Fuller, who replaced Brown in the line-up, killed off the game in time added on when he fired past Ragoo from about 20 yards out.

The result sends the defending champions back to the final as they chase another title in the regional club competition.
