Mount Pleasant Football Academy head coach Theodore Whitmore has described the club's qualification for the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup as a massive milestone following their progression in the regional tournament.

The St Ann-based club secured their spot after defeating Trinidad and Tobago’s Club Sando 2-0 in the second-leg semi-final at Sabina Park in Kingston, completing a 3-1 aggregate victory.

During the encounter, Trayvone Reid missed a penalty in the first half. However, second-half goals from national representatives Warner Brown and Nickalia Fuller secured the result for the defending champions in front of more than 1,000 supporters who turned out at Sabina Park.

Reflecting on the achievement, Whitmore praised the squad and emphasized the importance of ongoing development. "It’s a very important milestone, for the club, for the players," Whitmore said. "We just have to keep building and keep building to make Mount Pleasant great."

The victory makes Mount Pleasant the second club in history to book back-to-back finals appearances in the Caribbean Cup, joining fellow Jamaican club Cavalier FC. Following the semi-final success, Whitmore noted that the team will temporarily shift its focus from continental competition back to domestic fixtures in the Jamaica Premier League as they look to climb the standings.
