After a 25-year hiatus, Jamaica’s Reggae Trail Talent Search is back, kicking off an 11-week hunt for the next reggae star on September 16 at the 8Rivas Ultra Lounge in Ocho Rios. Organized by music industry veteran Paula “Suzie Q” Rose, the competition aims to give raw local talent a dedicated platform. The show grew out of Reggae Trail TV, which Suzie Q started in Florida before holding the first search in 1989.

Weekly contests will lead into the semi-finals on December 2, culminating in the grand final on December 9. Suzie Q will co-host the upcoming events alongside Tamba DLegend, a member of the original cast. The ultimate winner of the revived competition will receive a special opportunity to record a single.
