Paramount+ has set January 15, 2027, as the premiere date for the fifth and final season of “Mayor of Kingstown,” the crime drama co-created by Taylor Sheridan and starring Jeremy Renner, according to the platform’s announcement.

The final run will be shorter than previous seasons, consisting of eight episodes rather than the usual 10. Alongside the date, Paramount+ released first-look photographs from the season, including images of Renner as Mike McLusky, David Morse as FBI agent Russell Hardy, Edie Falco as Nina Hobbs, and Hugh Dillon as Ian Ferguson.

The official logline says the season picks up in the wake of Tracy’s murder and the vengeance visited upon Callahan by Mike and Kyle McLusky, played by Taylor Handley. According to the description, FBI agent Russell Hardy arrives in Kingstown searching for the “fugitive” Callahan. “A true lawman, Agent Hardy threatens to unearth all of Mike’s sins and secrets, and disrupt Kingstown’s tenuous balance of power,” the logline states.

Renner previously teased the season on Instagram, writing: “No one is safe this season …. I mean Nobody!”

The final season stars Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster and David Morse. Necar Zadegan, Nichole Galicia and Lennie James will also return. The cast also includes Edie Falco as Nina Hobba, Derek Webster as Stevie, and Tobi Bamtefa as Deverin “Bunny” Washington.

Filming wrapped on June 30.
