Four Seasons is scheduled to open its first resort in the Dominican Republic in mid-2027, with the property planned for Playa Esmeralda in Miches, according to details of the project.

The upcoming Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia will have 95 rooms, including 21 suites, along with 25 residences. The beach resort is planned with eight restaurants and lounges, three pools, a spa and excursions that extend into the surrounding forests, onto the water and out to a working farm.

The room count places a relatively small hotel at the centre of a broad vacation experience, with dining, recreation and wellness options intended to fill a week without repeating the same daily routine. The resort's address is Playa Esmeralda, with the beach central to both the property and its planned activities.

Miches has already attracted Hilton's Zemi Miches resort, while JW Marriott and Autograph Collection hotels are planned as part of a $500 million development. The Four Seasons arrival adds another major luxury name to the destination, with its 95-room count giving a sense of the scale being planned alongside a coastline described as having miles of secluded beach.

Four Seasons is planning eight restaurants and lounges, although the current overview does not yet name the venues or detail their individual menus. One specific connection is already clear: La Querencia, the Cisneros family's farm. Ingredients grown at La Querencia are expected to appear on tables throughout the resort, and guests will be able to participate in farm experiences and activities, taking that connection beyond what arrives on their plate.

The resort will have three pools, adding alternatives to a beach day. The wellness facilities include eight spa treatment rooms, two of them designed for couples, along with a yoga pavilion. A racquet sport centre is also planned, while hiking, mountain biking and guided nature exploration will take guests into the surrounding landscape.

Families will have a Kids For All Seasons centre and a separate teen centre, providing dedicated spaces for different ages. Alongside the pools and ocean activities, those facilities make children and teenagers a clear part of the resort's plans.

Complimentary ocean recreation will include kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and water bikes. Four Seasons is also outlining guided marine experiences, including snorkeling, sailing and excursions focused on the surrounding waters. Its overview highlights humpback whales and sea turtles, although individual encounters will depend on season and conditions.

On land, planned experiences include guided exploration and cultural exchanges connected to Fundación Tropicalia. The resort describes conservation and community stewardship as central to its approach.

The opening window remains mid-2027, with an exact debut date still to come. The restaurant concepts and chefs for the food programme have not yet been revealed.
